A home away from home
Outlined below is information on items we provide and items we ask the owner provide for the stay. If you have any other questions please message us at the center directly.
Pick up and drop off times are universal for boarding
7am – 9:30am & 4 – 6pm
*We have an earlier drop-off between 6–7am and a later pickup between 6–8pm. These are the only times that need to be pre-booked: just let us know the day before, any way you like (call, text, email or message). There is no extra charge.*
Once your dog is set up with us, regular daycare and boarding days don't need to be pre-booked.
Out of town boarders can book a specific drop off and pickup time slot. Must be 1 hour + in distance.
Minimum 24 hr board on weekends.
Requirements
- Required shots: DA2PP & Rabies (must be current)
- Vet records required before the first visit, so we can check they're valid and up to date
- Puppies can start at 10–12 weeks, once they've had their Rabies and DA2PP shots, with proof.
- All breeds welcome
- Fixed or unfixed dogs welcome
Exceptions may be possible for dogs that aren't vaccinated; please contact us first to discuss.
Please always have a back up plan, especially for unfixed females: if they go into heat during their stay they will be sent home immediately. Females are welcome back 2 weeks after their heat has ended, with a bath.
Payment & new clients
All payments (daycare and boarding) are due on the day of drop-off, by Interac e-Transfer or cash. No cancellation fees.
New to Canine Proficiency Center? Spots are limited: we only take a certain number of dogs, based on our busy schedule and current client list. Contact us to inquire and we'll send you our welcome package and registration forms. A meet-and-greet is available by appointment if you'd like one, but it isn't required.

Items to bring
- Food (raw or kibble). Please ensure it's labelled with instructions

Items to leave at home
- Unwashable dog beds. We would like to make sure your personal items stay clean.
- Personal bowls
What we provide
- Blankets: we make sure each dog is comfortable during their stay with comfortable bedding / blankets we provide fresh and sanitized each visit
- Bowls: we have an array of bowls that are cleaned with dog-safe products after each use
- Towels: plenty of towels for dogs who request baths or for when they are extra dirty and need a wipe down
*We will never feed dogs any food / treats that is not theirs.* If you forget food or anything else, just let us know and you can drop it off in our mailbox (our drop-off box) on the driveway. If that isn't possible, we can buy food or feed your dog from our supply; the cost is charged at drop-off and paid with your stay.

Where do dogs sleep?
All dogs will be in their own size-appropriate kennel with a blanket / bed, unless requested for dogs to be in the same kennel.
